About Solution Focused Therapy
As a Solution Focused Therapist, I use common-sense, clinically-proven strategies to help people achieve positive change in a relatively short period. In each session, we use A combination of talking therapy and hypnotherapy.
Each session lasts 50 minutes. We will spend the first part of the session discussing how the mind works, focussing on the changes you would like to make, and coming up with small steps to work towards those goals.
In the second part of the session, we may use trance to help you achieve a state of relaxation and focussed attention. For most people, this is a deeply pleasurable experience, and helps to consolidate your goals and promotes a sense of well-being. This is nothing like stage hypnosis you may have seen on the TV – you’ll always be aware and in control.
You’ll have a recording of the trance to take home with you. It’s recommended that you listen to it every day. It can be really useful to help you get to sleep.
Unlike many traditional therapies, clients can often achieve their goals within a relatively short time frame. We recommend at least eight weekly sessions for most issues, although some people may wish to continue for more.
